ALL THINGS BEGIN WITH YOU!

I have been awakening ever since I understand the “many failures” to secure my primary Success. I never give up and getting wiser than before. I’ve been working very hard to earn a decent living never look back but learning from my past; minimizing failure by understanding and evaluating all the risk factors. I don’t have to be rich and comfortable but what most important to me there’s no success without failure. And if I can understand that I am more than happy when I am on the top!

I have been awakening ever since I understand the value of “teamwork” than isolating myself in an “old-box”. I am not an island – I am an islander. And if there are other islanders then I am not alone.

I have been awakening ever since I understand the “evolution of self-awareness and consciousness” and I have gain much knowledge ever since rather than maintaining negative mindset, status-quo, resistance & racist culture, self-centrism and egocentrism.

I have been awakening ever since I understand the meanings of “smart-partnership”, “strategic alliance”, “mutual benefits and understanding”, “compromise, collaboration and compliment”, “regional and international network affiliation”, “win-win and win” than rejecting change and transformation.

I have been awakening ever since I understand that Life is short and I want to finish well and live to the fullest rather than “promoting blaming culture” and “non-productive culture”. I know both Life and Business are fragile and very unpredictable but I have to live with it. But for whatever it is, I always appreciate everything that God give me on a daily basis. Thank be to God!

I have been awakening ever since I understand my next generation (my children) needs and it is about time I need to build, develop, generate and ensure a “sustainable future” for them so they’re well equipped with intelligence, foresight, technical know-how, alternative revenue toolkits and sustainable platform. Having so they could become “competence, survivalist and sustainable generations” rather than living in isolation, undereducated, underserved, underprivileged and underdeveloped.

I have been awakening ever since I understand that victory is never won by just talking. Every success stories and/or victories are won by front-liners; they walk-the-talk. I need not necessarily be a community leader or a national leader or a politician but to achieve my victory I must effectively empower my own self-leadership. I can’t lead no one if I can’t change, transform and lead myself. I know it not going to be easy but if others can achieve victory – why not me?

I have been awakening ever since I understand the words; “poverty”, “penniless”, “hopeless”, “helplessness” and “backwardness”, and it is about time I need to find, outsource, invent and improvise some solutions and initiatives to narrow the gap and find mechanism to propel and prosper with dignity.

I have been awakening ever since I understand the meanings of “Pro-Government” and “Pro-Opposition” and it is about time I should be pursuing on promoting “Pro-Unity” and/or “Pro-Nationalism” that people who share a common language, history, and culture should constitute an independent nation, free of foreign domination rather than promoting conflict, divisionalism, racism and extremism.

I have been awakening ever since I understand the meanings of “personal growth”, “personal development”, “personal achievement”, “personal motivation”, “personal pride”, “personal courage” and “personal success”, and it is about time I should maximize every capabilities, capacities, possibilities, resources, networks, associates, affiliates and opportunities I have got and/or identified to live a successful legacy.

I have been awakening ever since I understand and realize my own big dream and not in other people’s dreams; gosh…how have I missed that! To see my big dream a reality I have to believe in my own dream. I have to maintain my self-discipline and stay on focus. I have build and empower my courage and strength to allow myself to dream big. Big dreams will keep me pushing forward – moving forward. It will lift me up and inspire me to become better.

  • There can be ‘dozens’ of leaders.
  • There can be ‘dozens’ of followers.
But if you failed to estimate and/or underestimate what it takes to success, you will never success in life.

Getting What You Want in Life Takes;
  • Positive Thinking
  • Creative Thinking
  • Innovation & High-Initiative Culture
  • Ideation & Experimentation
  • Intellectual Empowerment
  • Talent, Skill & Good Communication
  • Technical, Tactical, Technique & Strategic Enhancement/ Improvisation
  • Intelligence Gathering

To Move Forward In Life You Need To Analyze;
  • Your External Barriers
  • Your Internal Barriers
To Implement The Above You Must Master; the “WHOM” principles
  • Know Who
  • Know How
  • Know Opportunity
  • Know Market
To success, propel and prosper, you don’t have to think far and just understand any of these words; Lets just focus on letter beginning with “P".....

Proactivity, persistency, progressiveness, productivity, participation, partnership, pursuing, painstakingness, preparation, passion, performance, plan, positivity, potentiality, pathmaker, perfectibility, pride, perseverance, pursuit, power and prestige, procreativeness, professionalism, profitability, projection, promising achievement, promptness, prospectiveness, provisionary, prudency, psilanthropism, publicity and purposefulness.

End

As long as we can understand our own deepest destiny, we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day or time when we will fully bloom. It happens in its own time.

Think about the prospects of "Business" in Fishing Plan

Aku sigi rindu nginti. I enjoy it whether or not I catch fish.

A good catch makes the fishing trip more entertaining than just a visit, it makes it a successful fishing trip. I prefer to catch fish. A memorable fishing adventure begins with a good plan.

What makes a fishing trip successful? For starters you need to gear up. You need to:
  • Know the right spot to fish
  • Have the right vehicles to get to the right spot
  • Use the right bait to attract the right fish to take the hook
  • Know how to set the hook, and
  • How to play and land the fish.
I suggest you do all these things properly, and you will have a great fishing trip.

What Plan?

A successful fishing trip begins long before the first cast. Being at the right place at the right time might look fortuitous to the onlooker, but it's usually the result of research and planning.

Someone has taken the time to learn about the fish; habits, patterns, likes and dislikes. It is also critical to know the waterway and have a roadmap to guide you to the spot.

You also want to understand weather patterns and have backup plans to deal safely with accidents or disasters.

What Preparation?

In getting equipped for a great fishing trip, you will want to prepare for all possible situations. You will need survival gear, fishing equipment and the suitable vehicles to get to the right location.

Then there's the fishing gear - rod and reel, the tackle box, line, lures, weights. If you're camping you will have a whole other range of concerns and equipment to attend to.

What Competition?

You will need to be aware of the other fishermen vying for the same fish as you are.

Too many competitors will deplete the supply of fish and you might find yourself working much harder than you want.

A certain amount of competition is healthy, too much is not.
  • If your business is competing with too many others, you will need to work much harder to capture your share of the market.
  • If you find yourself surrounded by a throng of hungry fishermen and no fish, it might be time to pack up and move to a new location.
  • If you find yourself engulfed by competitor advertising and your sales lagging it may be time to reposition your business.
What Location?

Success is only possible in both fishing and business by choosing the right location.

Ideally you want to place yourself on the bank of a river where the current compels the fish to swim within a few feet of you.

Fishing where there are no fish is like trying to sell goods where there are no customers. In business, you must locate yourself where customers can see you and where they can stop to shop.

You can do everything else perfectly, but if you are in the wrong place customers and fish won't even know you're in the game.

What Presentation?

You can pick the right location and do many things well, but if you don't present the right tackle the customers will pass you by.

As the fish swim through your location, something has to catch their interest and entice them to pause long enough to inspect your offering. It might be some sort of bait or a shiny lure, or a combination of the two.

The bait can be real food; the lure might look like food. The function of your presentation is to get the fish to stop and bite.

In business, you must find ways to catch your customers' interest and slow them down long enough to nibble on your lure.

What Play?

Once a fish bites you need to set the hook and reel in. If you blow this part of the process, the fish gets away and isn't likely to take your bait again for a long time. I don't know if fish talk to each other, but customers definitely do.

Make sure each encounter is positive. Depending on the type of fish and your skill set, you might have to play a few fish and customers before actually landing one.

What Landing?

You can play the fish and bring it to the water's edge, but your job is still not done. Many great fish are lost at the point of landing.

Part of the trick to a successful landing is to remain calm so as not to spook the fish.

With customers you will need to be attentive to the last drop, listening for objections, answering questions, focusing on the benefits.

It is also critical to know when your catch is complete, and how to stop selling and start bagging.

Conclusion

Like fishing, your business adventure should begin with a plan. In planning your business you will:
  • Prepare yourself to manage and operate your business
  • Learn what's working for your competitors
  • Research and compare different locations
  • Develop and fine tune your presentation
Planning will take you to a certain point and then it's time to get out into the current and fish.

Once in business you will have plenty of opportunities to learn the business trade skills of attracting, engaging and keeping customers.

Think initiative; just food for thought. Thank you.

SMART LEADERS USED SMART APPROACH TO ACHIEVE RESULTS!

True leaders are result orientated individuals who either lead a team or an organization efficiently, progressively and productively. As a leader your main role is to deliver results!

When you deliver results, your team and your organization benefits, and you personally benefit!

Smart leaders take smart approach to produce result. So what approach are you taking now?

“SMART” is of talked about in terms of goal setting but the “SMART approach” is about the things effective leaders do to produce and achieve results.

So what are these SMART things all about?

STRATEGY

“S” in the SMART approach is about “Strategy”.
  • What does strategy mean to you?
  • What are your strategic plans?
  • How do you compose your strategy?
  • Have you consider; 1) Leadership & Corporate Management Strategy, 2) Executive Management & Communications Strategy, 3) Risk Management Strategy, 4) Financial & Investment Strategy, 5) Network & Marketing Strategy, 6) Economics Planning & Development Strategy, 7) Management Wins and Win-Win Strategy and so on?
Leaders work with their teams and/or “Executives” to develop a compelling vision for their organization, get people to buy in and develop the strategies to realize that vision.

They focus not just on the short-term goal but on the medium-to-long term goals. The focus is on sustainable and lasting success.

MEASUREMENT

“M” in the SMART approach is about measurement.
  • How do you measure your organization key performance indicator (KPI)?
  • How do you measure your goals?
  • What result you want to achieve; 1) measure what your team or people/members say is important, 2) measure areas where there are problems you'd like to solve, and 3) measure the organization objectives you are aiming to achieve?
Measurement herein is used to quantify the performance of some component of an organization. There are three types of performance measures: key result indicators, performance indicators, and key performance indicators.

If an organization (SDGA or others) is to move from vision, ideas and possibilities to results, it needs to take action.

Some of those actions will be a success (if not all), others might work out differently than expected, and some might not work out at all. Failure(s) is part of learning process.

Measurement is the way of determining whether you are on and/or off track or focus and/or oversight and whether you need to make adjustments and maybe diversification or improvisation.

ACCOUNTABILITY

“A" in the SMART approach is about accountability.
  • Are you ready to undertake 'lost' and 'failure'?
  • What is the biggest cost in your organization?
  • Who is accountable for this cost?
  • Who is your accountability partner?
Accountability is defined as the act of holding others responsible or answerable for their actions (good or bad), for exemplary job performance, and achieving results.

As a leader you need to make clear to others what outcomes and results they are expected to deliver and then hold them to account.

Leaders are often fantastic at setting the outcomes but are often less effective when it comes to following up.

It is important that accountability is seen as feedback and learning as much as it is checking results and progress, otherwise much of the value will be lost.

RESPONSIBILITY

“R” in the SMART approach is about responsibility.
  • How responsible are you?
  • Do you serve responsibly?
  • Are you going to stay or ‘chicken out’ when problem and/or crisis arise?
  • Do you understand the ideas behind win, success and sustainability?
As the leader the buck stops with you. The best leaders are ready to stand up and take responsibility when things do not go as well as planned.

This can be tough and challenging but is a vital part of being an effective leaders and achieving success. Responsible leaders cultivate their judgment skills!

TRUST

“T” in the SMART approach is about trust.
  • Are you having a hard time setting yourself apart as a leader?
  • Are your people jaded by all the scandals and unethical behavior of politicians, corporations, and government?
  • Are you getting caught up in their skepticism?
Building trust in your organization's leadership starts with character. You cannot expect your people to conform to high moral values if your values are not equally high.

Showing your people true moral character builds credibility, one of the most important building blocks of trust. Your character, of course, comes directly from your values and principles.

If you naturally value relationships as well as results you are well on your way to learning how to inspire trust in them.

As a leader, you've got to fly in the face of this and build a culture of trust to be successful. That journey begins with character. Hold high moral values and show those standards to your people on a daily basis.

Make sure your conduct exemplifies your character. As you build credibility, your enforcement of character-centered policies becomes more meaningful and starts to create the climate you're striving for - the climate that promotes leadership trust.

With people looking to you for answers and wanting to trust in your leadership abilities, you need that edge that only comes from understanding of how our minds can drive us towards unlimited success or paralyze us with fear.

Conclusion

Effective leaders know that they must focus on results and at the end of the day it is results that matter.

Leaders make sure that they and those that are leading are stay focused on results and priorities rather than getting distracted.

The best leaders take a SMART approach to achieving leadership success. So what action will you take to be a better leader?

Thank you.

TEACHING A MAN TO FISH

Teach yourself first!
  • Teach yourself First not ‘fishing for mercy’.
  • Teach yourself to Fish.
  • Educate yourself to Fish.
  • Force yourself to Fish.
  • Empower yourself to Fish better.
  • Learn to Fish by yourself.
  • Study the Fish so you can catch it easier.
  • Learn to work as a team to catch more Fish.
  • Regroup your team of fishermen to explore the ocean to catch more Fish.
  • Don’t be the Fish in the pond that live on daily feeding, get out of it and explore the seas.
  • Be the Man who gives you the Fish, you’ll be at par and/or better than him.
  • Learn from others who can Fish better than us.
Notes:

Fish is not necessary “politics”.

Fish can be “Food”, “Knowledge”, “Technology”, “Innovation”, “Invention”, “Economics”, “Finance”, “Investment”, “Networking”, “Entrepreneurism”, “Business”, “Law”, “Opportunity”, “Possibility”, and others that is of primary important to you, your family and your community in uplifting your well being and/or standard of living.

F.I.S.H – “Find Initiative Sufficiently and Honestly” or “Finance, Investment, Security & Health” or other synonymous.

We old know the old saying...

“Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.

The wisdom of the old saying that the world is best served by teaching a man to fish rather than giving him a fish to eat rings true down through the ages.

If an aid society, wishing to do the right thing, simply chooses to give food to starving people rather than teaching that same group of starving people how to fish or farm, damage is done that can take generations to fix. Are Dayaks belonged to “Aid Society”?

We have all heard this quote many times to justify many things. A cliché, perhaps, but it is nevertheless a timeless piece of wisdom. And we have all wondered why it didn’t work better than it seemed to.

I feel what is missing is desire, commitment and willingness to learn and/or explore outside the box.

The fisherman has to want to learn how to fish. If he doesn’t want to learn, he will stay hungry. It is part of the art of survival, art of progression and art of modernization.
  • Are “Sea Dayaks” not fishermen?
  • How have they survived all these years?
  • If they are “Sea Dayaks” why have they not going out into the sea and catch more Fish?
  • What make them live ‘inland’ rather than exploring the sea so they can Fish better?
  • Why “Non-Sea Dayaks” can Fish better than “Sea Dayaks”?
The fisherman has to effectively use what he/she is taught and experienced as well. If he/she doesn’t understand the instructions, or misuses the instructions, he/she still will be hungry and/or remain poor. Maybe that explains why “80%” of Dayaks remain poor, backward and dead broke.

We all want fish, and if someone shows us how to fish, we still won’t really learn. After all, we are entitled to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”. Are you?

But is poor, backwardness and/or dead broke what we really bargained for? Isn’t there more to living in Malaysia than just getting by?

All around us people are talking of the bad economy and the corrupt politics; government has no money, and believing it.

But people are still making money. People have always made money. Even during ‘The Depression’, people made money.

We have been indoctrinated ourselves in the “Societal Cultural Hypnotic Trance” and/or with “Problem of Personality, Rationality, Directionality, Communality and Affection” which has kept us from achieving the destiny we were meant to receive.

But there is a way to take control of our destiny. Many have developed systems to build teams and unity or ‘beserakup’, and ‘cooperation’, ‘collaboration’, ‘corporation’, ‘corporatization’ and/ or ‘conglomerate’, to generate income and to be come self-sufficient, self-efficient, self-independence, and inter-dependence.

The key word there is “self,” not “government,” not “entitlement”, but always “self” and “inter-dependence” (and inter-connectivity).

That is what the Dayaks enforced themselves to become “self-development”, “self-determination” and “self-governance” (men and women / rural and urban), and taking a new step and initiative to stand for what they believed in and building a system where it could flourish.

It was built on the desire to become educated and learn Fish, not the willingness to accept fish.

Conclusion

You have a choice, learn to Fish or accept Fish.
  • If you accept the Fish, you have to accept that you are part of the “80%”.
  • If you learn to fish, you have the opportunity to be in the 20% and the rewards that come with it!
ARE YOU A FISH THAT NEED TO BE ‘SILVER-SPOON’?

Thank you.

WORK SMART - MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION!

I support Dr Dusit Jaul’s decision in moving the SDGA forward objectively to achieve their Vision, Mission, Objectives and Goals.

If one chooses to remain 'status quo', they will remain stagnant, dying, hunger, underserved, underdeveloped and underprivileged.

Scenario I:

During the ethnic conflicts, our forefathers were re-known "headhunters" fought fiercely against each rival tribes and ethnic clans (dead and wounded, beheaded and murdered, and almost lawless) and several years later they signed a peace treaty building this state and defending/protecting it against foreign enemies including the Japanese during WW II.

Scenario II:

Yesterday our Iban Trackers and Sarawak Rangers (brave warriors) were employed and deployed to protect this homeland and Malaya against "Communist Insurgency" and many years later the "Communist" (mostly Chinese) laid down their weapons and surrendered. And now they worked together as friends (employees and employers, leader and subordinates, businessmen and clients) to build this state and nation forward progressively to become a developed country one day.

Scenario III:

Same goes to “Dayak politics”, they fight the government, they join the government, they work with the government and they become the government. And from within they make policies to help their own peoples and/or constituencies.

Scenario IV:

In business and/or development perspectives and other routines, some are against certain ‘government policy(s)’ and some seek government assistance (licenses, subsidies, budgets, permits, policing, education, medical health, welfare, etc) to protect, defend and improve their lives and well being.

SO WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE AT A “CROSSROAD” OR “DEAD END”?
  • If you can’t change, transformation is a choice.
  • If you can’t fight, cooperation is a choice.
  • If you can’t compete, strategic partnership is a choice.
  • If you can’t challenge them, compromise is a choice.
  • If you can’t lock them into confrontation, mutual relationship is a choice.
  • If you can’t win, peace is a choice.
  • If you can’t get rich, live moderately is a choice.
  • If you can’t lead, delegation or follower is a choice.
  • If you can’t protect/defend yourself or others, surrender to God is a choice.
  • If you can’t live, dead is a choice.
As leaders some time a decision is hard to swallow. A responsible leader captained his ship to reach their destination safely and successfully.

A decision maybe sickening to execute but what important is that everyone and/or the majority is safe from unforeseen circumstances. That's leadership responsibility. Move on forward!

Many of us work very hard from early morning until late evening every day. We strive hard because we want to achieve great success.

However, no matter how much effort we put in, we don't see any obvious progress or result. When we look at our colleagues or friends or others, they work in a relaxing manner but they obtain better results than us.
  • Is it really fair?
  • Are you facing the same problem currently?
  • Are you repeating the same negative growth model?
  • Are you upset and so upset that others have move forward progressively and you are still you?
  • Have you missed the bus of progression and prosperity?
  • Are you what you are and not what you are supposed to be?
  • Have you oversight and miscalculate your strategy?
  • Are you born in the opposite direction?
  • Do you have a choice to work your future from within and not confronting your obstacles?
  • Have you analyzed your obstacles yet?
You must be upset, sorrow, saddened, depressed, stressed and angrier. Let me just share with you some of my personal thoughts herein.

Seriously speaking, in whatever work you are doing, there are FIVE (5) questions you should always keep-in-mind:

1. What is the mission?
2. What is the objective? Or goal?
3. What results do you want to get out of this?
4. What are your sustainability strategies; short-term plan, your medium-term plan and your long-term plan?
5. Why others live successfully and “I am not”; what is your personal SWOT?

Others have propel, prosper, enrich and successful because they are “SMART”. Struggling hard and working hard are good but working “SMART” is a better choice!

“SMART” turns mission, objective, goals and tasks into concrete deliverables. A “SMART” person knows how to create many possibilities because each possibility produces opportunity.

One possibility strike, the opportunity belongs to him/her. Many possibilities strike, he/she will be among the most successful people or at par with others who have success before him/her.

“SMART” leader would never leave his/her followers behind and/or organization dying but lay as many possibilities and/or creativity as possible for ‘them’ to achieve success altogether.

“If Plan A failed, they go for Plan B, if Plan B failed, they go for other plans until they achieved and secured their specific mission, objective, goal and reality. That way, they will always remains “SMART”!

To be “SMART”, we need to take another look at the way we do things; get out of the old box. Please keep in mind that nothing remains static for long.

For instance, the politics, the environment, the economy, the people and even the mission of an organization will change any time. We should always test new ideas and take up new challenges.

When you have new ideas, you need to make sure that the ideas are creative while remaining purposeful. Being creative is important as it helps to bring out the best in you and will set you apart from the rest.

Not just change, we need to transform. We need to have positive attitude. Having negative and defensive mood will not bring you anywhere. In order to move further and/or beyond, you are advised to be open-minded.

People who are willing to accept constructive comments and feedback are able to improve faster. Being efficient is not enough. The way to success in our career or whatever lies in effectiveness.

Hence, we need to transform the way we work in order to achieve the best results. If you don't have any idea, you are encouraged to create possibilities and/or look for opportunities.

Don't just keep quiet, stagnant, undecided and do the same things. If there is no road and/or direction, create one and/or many.

Notes: If you cannot fight the “government”, then work with the government from within to achieve your mission, objective and goals; for you, your family, your teammates, organization and your peoples. You can become a policymaker from within too.

Obstacles are every seconds, every day, everywhere and every now and then, regardless you are in the government or pro-government and/or as pro-opposition. On earth, we compete to survive. That is what life all about. There is no perfect world on earth only in heaven.

In my personal opinion, doing the right decision and/or job will help you to have less stress. If you choose to take the smart choice, you will be among the smart people. Be smart, work smart and success smartly!

My apology, it is just my personal opinion.

Thank you.

IS SARAWAK A MULTIRACIAL STATE?

As multi-racial state, we may have multi-opinions too. I respect your opinion and this is just my personal opinion.

I think "Sarawak Reawakening" is way much better than "Dayak Reawakening". If we want to be at par with West Malaysia then we should stand-up together as Sarawakians.

It helps all multi-racial Sarawakians; Chinese, Dayaks, Malays and other minorities.

Notes: I am a Sarawakian and I do not belong to any political party but an ordinary citizen of Malaysia.
  • Isn’t “DAP” a multi-racial political party?
  • Isn’t “DAP” believed in democracy and not racialism?
  • If we believe in democracy then we should promote democratic nationalism, right?
  • If Sarawakians are Malaysians, are we nationalists too?
Everybody wants the best in their lives. We all must work together to strengthen the platform this state has built its modern state upon.
  • If it is underdeveloped then we all must develop it.
  • If it is underserved then we all must serve it.
  • If it is underprivileged then we all must enrich it.
  • If it is underpowered then we all must empower it.
  • If it is underrepresented then we all must increase our representation.
  • If it is ‘undersail’ then we all must captain into the right direction.
  • If it is underscored then we all must reinforced it and make more scores.
  • If it is ‘underprovided’ then we must find more initiatives to provide it.
  • If it is underfunded then we must outsource and find more funds to implement it.
Let us learn from our past mistakes and advance our knowledge for our future and next generations’ betterment. If we do not learn from them, we shall be condemned to repeat them.

I also believe Sarawak is dedicated to:
  • Achieving a greater unity for all her peoples.
  • Maintaining a democratic way of life.
  • Creating a just nation shall be equitably distributed.
  • Ensuring a liberal approach to her rich and diverse cultural traditions, and
  • Building a progressive society which shall be oriented to modern science and technology.
Actually, there are not too many rules to follow:

First and foremost is, "Belief in God and dwell in unity”.
Second: "We stand together, divided we fall".
Third: "Fostering national value and re-awakens patriotic spirit”
Fourth: "Cooperation, not corporation".
Fifth: "Equitability & Mutual Benefiting".
Sixth: "Prosper in economics and promoting a value-based education system".
Seventh: "Love, peace, stability and justice for all".

Let us all commit ourselves to the reawakening of the spirit of our nation, our nationhood.

Let us take pride in the belief of our forefathers that our past has been glorious, but our future shall be brighter!

"Oh God of all creation, heaven and the universes
Bless our land and people
Justice be our shield and defender
May we dwell in greater Unity
Love, peace, harmony and liberty
Plenty is found within our borders.
Let one and all arise as ONE
With hearts both strong and true
Service be our earnest Endeavour
And our homeland of Sarawak
Heritage of splendor
Firm may we stand to defend and protect
Let all with one accord
In common bond united
Build this our state together
And the glory of Sarawak
The fruit of our labor
Fill every heart with thanksgiving. Amen".

Lastly

But IF you want the Native to unite as “Dayak” then you must federate them, united under the rule of a “central authority” (self-governance, self-determination, self-reliance, self-efficient, self-esteem).

An association, or better still “Union of Natives” who mutually agreed to come together, reconcile and form a Native union (which maybe called “Dayak Union”) in which they recognize the right of the central authority to hold the reigns of power, privilege, rights and representation. Otherwise just forget it and let the dream die-away to rest-in-peace.

I guess “SDNU” (Self-Destruction Native Union) is slowly self-destructing itself, vaporize and fade away into history…It could have been better for “SDNU Reawakening” instead....

Maybe ‘Bunyau’ and ‘Mujab’ can reawaken it??

My apology, it is just my personal opinion.

Thank you.

Think about this; is ‘Bunyau’ an idiot?

Stupid is, as stupid does. So do your best not to be stupid or “paloi”.

I know it is not popular to label people as stupid. Tons of time with people who are so “thick head” they just keep on the same dumb track.

Why some Dayaks keep on doing the same mistake all over again?

All of us do stupid things at some point of time in our lives. And I am one of them too. We pay the price and learn from those ill-fated actions. No problem!

We lose our motivation to do things that don’t work or have a very low probability of ever working. We move on!

For many people, feeling that they are stupid is not common. For others, they feel like they’re constantly feeling plain dumb. Is your backwardness due to dumbness?

This means we need to LEARN and TEACH ourselves first on how to stop feeling stupid, possibly learn how to forgive ourselves, and possibly learn how to think before we open our mouth and/or do something.

Referring to ‘Bunyau & Mujap’ scenario above:

I believe feeling stupid is often the result of something that was said/done that didn’t make much sense. It’s often because we failed to analyze things (SWOT) and jump onto it blindly.

Or when a person wasn’t listening very well to what was being said, or they opened their mouth before they realized what the conversation was really about. “Paloi motosikal tu....”

This results in a feeling of being stupid, when it’s not really “paloi” or even ignorance, just reacting before thinking.

When we do stupid thing and/or decision, we probably doomed ourselves into unforeseen problems; underserved, underprivileged, underdeveloped, incompetence, etc.

If you’re one who often winds up feeling less intelligent than you should be, stop and think before you open your big mouth or do something drastic or sign something blindly.

Scenario: “You’re my trustee; I fully trust you….Trust yourself first before you surrender your full power of attorney (PA) to your trustee....you might lose everything....understand your clause as an exit point.....protect and safeguard yourself and your future always....”

Often, the conversation and/or understanding is deeper than you recognize it, and that’s why when you to jump into the conversation/understanding, and wind-up feeling stupid. In other words, think before you speak and think before you do.

If this happens to you a lot, make a promise to yourself not to open your big mouth or accept something blindly without thinking first!

And as you get better about not speaking or doing thing before thinking, your feelings of stupidity will lessen.

The other side of the conversation/understanding is those people who feel stupid no matter how smart they are.

First of all, no one in the world can know everything, most people have a general intelligence, but many people have a specialized intelligence in certain areas.

Some are “Jacks of all trades but master of none”. You’re born specialist in your own area. God gifted us with brain, skills and talents.

If you find that you’re feeling stupid, find your special area of intelligence and learn everything you can about it, and don’t worry too much about not knowing much about the rest of it.

Feeling stupid is not a natural emotion, if you find that you’re feeling stupid on a regular basis; try to learn how to think before you open your mouth or do something.

Finally, do realize that it's not the end of the world

Some times our stupidity gets the best of us and we lose jobs, homes, lands, powers, privileges, supporters and friends.

When that happened you have to realize that tomorrow will come and this is not the end.

Your final forgiveness comes from a place not seen by human eyes. You also have to forgive yourself and do your level best to finish well.

Many times that is the reason we hide from our stupidity. It is harder to forgive yourself than anyone else.

Once you say “sorry”, and if you genuinely are, and there is nothing more you can do you have to move on. Give it to God and start again.

NEXT TIME, THINK FIRST BEFORE YOU DO OR SAY!

Thank you.
