ENDA PATUT BANSA KITAI DAYAK TU BANSA BODO?

Minta ampun dulu bala di-basa laban kalalu panjai utai ti deka dirandau aku enggau bala kitai ba ruai tu ka sekali tu. Iya ka manah simpan, iya ka jai buai. Berandau mih kitai enggau manah ngiga anak penemu ia tau ngemai pemansang ngagai bansa diri.

ENDA PATUT BANSA KITAI DAYAK TU BANSA BODO?

We all have a choice….. (not necessary Opposition)…. Even Opposition is not a savior; “they” are politicians too.

If you got into trouble with the law where you would you go?

If you need a license (business or whatsoever related) where would you go; to a political party or to the government and its agency?

But what if BN is the government; would you go and seek your license issued from an Opposition office?

My guess; many will say this is a democratic country. Politics is a never ending socialize forum and in the end it’s all about “power”, “money” and “darjat”.

Have you ever noticed how many times we hear the comment: “Don’t be stupid” or “Are you stupid?” We can be sure that at times we make bad choices and even we make stupid decisions.

However, I think it’s not about “stupid” and/or “stupido” or “tuyu”/ “paloi”/ “bodo”/ “jugau” but more about lack of problem solving skills; lack of education, lack of moral value, lack of initiative, lack of reasoning power, lack of foresight or even lack of awareness.

DO YOU STILL THINK MANY DAYAKS ARE “STUPID”?

Do you not know that 1/3 of Sarawak lands today is already belonged and/or controlled by the Chinese, another 1/3 is directly or indirectly owned by politicians and their nominees (via corporate acquisition or by proxy), and the remaining 1/3 is left split between the NCR lands and State lands?

Now let’s be clear, we do not want to belittle individuals and/or a community who make human mistakes. We are not born perfect either.

No, I am talking about those individuals who continue acting as if they know everything. These later group of individuals isolate and protect their stupid minds in most rigid ways.

They operate based on lack of social interest, lack of care for others, lack of brotherhood, lack of comradeship and lack of esprit-de-coupship.

If we could measure stupidity, we would see that this later group cause most human suffering and environmental hazards. How? Well, we can only contemplate on this topic a bit more.

In my mind, “stupidity” of rigid and careless people enhances misery for many others. What I am talking about?

We, Dayaks, or for sure many of us, know what “stupidity” is about. We have seen thousands of examples every day of our past bloody 48 years of life since Sarawak-Malaysia Independence.

And we hear all those stupid comments about every single thing concerning our human life including religious matters too.

We have experienced the bitter result of all those stupid ideas and actions that only cripples us badly.

For many of us, Dayaks, even if we choose, we are unable to skip hearing those stupid words, meanings, stories, and death motivated interactions.

Let us all analyze the echo of these words;

• Anang ngelaban Pehintah
• Ngelak ka orang dulu mih
• Enti nadai Pehintah bakani kitai ulih idup?
• Aku tu enda nemu utai ulu ili, adu ka dia mih enti bulih duit-ringgit ila anang enda nyankong aku
• Enti nyadi penyakal, kitai enda bulih projek ila
• Pehintah tu baka Petara laban enti nadai Pehintah kitai nadai agi bulih pemansang tauka penatai duit-ringgit
• Enti Pehintah nyuruh kitai ngisi pom kena kitai ngemansang ka tanah menoa kitai, nulong ngisi ka aku dom legi aku sign…..
• Enti nadai Pehintah, dini kitai ulih nyakul ka bala anak kitai deh?
• Kitai enda tau enda ngundi “YB” nya laban iya tu orang Pehintah; bah bakani enti “YB” nya ari parti penyakal deh?
• Kitai mesti nyukong Parti Penyakal laban sida iya tau ngidup ka kitai
• Kitai mesti ngelaban Pehintah laban nyau ambis menoa kitai diempu Pehintah
• Sapa Pehintah tu; Pehintah Taib tauka Pehintah Naib tauka Pehintah Anwar Ibrahim tauka Pehintah Lim Kit Siang?
• Kitai badu agi nyukong parti ari menoa Malaya; bah sapa ka meggai tampuk Pehintah Federal deh?
• Nama utai ulih kitai enti kitai majak nyakal aja-aja?
• Sida Pakatan tu “Outsider” tang sida Federal tu ukai

And so it goes on….

We, Dayaks, who follow the news, hear everyday all those stupid rules, policies and regulatory that worsen life in general for everyone.

We read and hear news about how women, children, families, and individuals are being harassed because there is no limit to the nonsense and stupid ideas that are being practiced by some stupid people.

We have read, heard and saw how Native longhouses had been bulldozed to the ground, logjam and etc-etc.

We also know some of among us already know that we have been marginalized by “others”, yet again they choose to make their “stupid decision” to join them and/or even alliance with them or forming an opposition front with them?
If we can’t strengthen ourselves within our own community, how are we going to strengthen ourselves with “others”? Is that a “stupid” decision?

I guess most of these “stupid” people do not know of their invaluable skill in producing stupid comments, rules, action plans, and laws;

• Why would they know?
• Are they are stupid, naïve, careless and/or selfish?
• Why would they care how their stupid “concepts” and/or “schemes” or “policies” hurt people?
• How would they know that their hold on to a power that is perceived as holy is stupid?

Stupid people do not know that their crisis minded thoughts and actions, do impact individual, politics, social, economics and the environment.

Why would they care? Are they are stupid? However now the question is why those who are logical and know better still let stupid people rule?

It is important to emphasize that stupidity is not an excuse. We all should be accountable for our actions, stupid or not.

We, Dayaks, know many of these stupid people who will not let us be in peace, because they are stupid enough to think that we are stupid too. What do I mean by stupid?

Well…..all the nonsense talks when we have important topics to discuss. Sometimes you wonder what is the limit to “stupidity”? Berapa mayoh agi? Berapa panjai agi?

It is certainly my belief that healthy communication is the main step toward rebuilding our Bansa Dayak on what has been destroyed over decades. Find solutions for “Rebuilding Dayak Nations” to a new path.

I believe that we, Dayaks, need to challenge our beliefs by analyzing our own Adat, culture and our backwardness or helplessness, the ways in which we find our strength and also how it hinders us from self-determination, self-development and self-governance.

Our next generations could adjust better in their walks of life, if we can offer them a thorough and honest analysis of what has made us to be where we are now.

I would like to encourage healthy communication, positive participation, and cooperation in hope for building healthy families within our Dayak community.

Not all Dayaks are “stupid”; they are just “naive”, lack of education and awareness.

My apology, it’s my personal opinion. Thank you.

IN THIS LIFE, WE ALL HAVE A CHOICE. HAVING CHOICE MEANS HAVING FREEDOM. DON’T LET “OTHERS” DICTATE YOUR FREEDOM!
